The Birthing House written by Christopher Ransom wil horrify you in the way your first Steven King novel did!
When Conrad's father dies he spontaneously buys an old Victorian house with a violent history of births and deaths.
Shortly after moving his extremely LA wife to the country villa she travels away for business and things start getting really strange.
When a 100-year-old photo album from the house appears and he discovers one of the women is his current wife, things really start getting frightening.
Following this is a roller coaster of twists and unexpected turns that result in a huge climate that will make you want to read it again to see if it really happened.
Who should read this book?
If you can handle hardcore horror you may make it through this book, if you enjoy a good thriller you may even make it half way.
However if you like you novels tame, I doubt you will even make it through the first chapter. I was seriously petrified in some parts.
This book has been compared to Stephen Kings Classic “The Shining” and I would have to agree with that. This is apparently Christopher Ransom’s first book and I can’t imagine how he could match it in another. However I will be checking it out to find out.
